Hannibal watched as she further mutilated the man and chuckled softly in amusement. "You should know better than to upset a mother Littlefinger. Although, I do wonder if we were to cook this silver tongue of yours....if we would see it filled with silver or something more like where you came from." He taunted before checking on how the food was cooking.

Margaery smiled as she tied off the thread and sent the servant away with the box of thread and needles. "Indeed Lord Baelish," she taunted in turn as she moved to soothe the twins. "A golden rose I was, but the North and motherhood has indeed changed me."

She smirked over her shoulder to him and stood up to stand beside Hannibal, still a little put off by the scent and look of the meat, but determined to strengthen herself.

Hannibal smiled proudly at her as she returned to their children. He pulled her close. "The fox is cooking well. I feel that it will be a very sweet meal." He said to try and calm her nerves a bit. He would cut the meat to hide its true nature of it would help her. It truly would not taste very different from other game he had brought home.

Margaery tilted her brow at the meat, swallowing hard to hide her slight disgust. "How are you certain when the fox is done?" She asked, convincing herself by repetition that it was indeed a fox they would be eating.

She looked to him with dark eyes. Margaery took a deep breath before finally asking: "How long have you done this? Do many in the North consume such...delicacies?"

Hannibal would call it fox to help her if that was what she needed. He held her close as she turned those dark eyes up to him. He turned her so that her back was to Littlefinnger and the cooking meat. "People of the north have learned to cook and eat food to survive, no matter what form the gods send it in." He said lowly. "I have done this a number of times before. Only in one case was it for pleasure, like this, rather than survival." He explained.

It was true, in winter if you could not find decent game and your companion was dead or sizing you up to feed off of you...survival instincts take hold.

Margaery felt fear grip her heart for a moment. For a horrible moment she imagined the twins, older and grown, trapped in the snow and each forced to look upon the other as a meal, not as a sibling.

She tried to force the thought from her mind. They would be ruling in King's Landing soon enough, they would not have to worry about that. Besides, she was curious.

"Who did you consume for pleasure?" She whispered, fearful.

Hannibal saw the fear in her eyes before pulling her in close to kiss her temple and whisper lowly into her ear. "Our children will never be in that situation my love. They will have Vhagar and Moanna close to keep them safe, warm, and fed." He said to comfort her. Of course he himself would always go to rescue them if needed. However, Vhagar and Moanna could be with them until he arrived.

He tilted her chin up to look deep into her eyes. "It was a young knight. He had made a pass at my mother and had even had the nerve to attack her with the intention of raping her. I was only 12 at the time. I pulled him off of her and overpowered him. He fought hard and at one point had me pinned to the wall as his face was in my face to taunt me. I bit his cheek off and he reeled backwards. I drew my knife as I lunged at him again. I took his other cheek as I stabbed him in the belly to slowly begin to kill him." He said.

Margaery smiled weakly and nodded in agreement. They would have Moanna and Vhagar with them, and of course their own wolves when they become of age.

She listened carefully when he described the man he'd eaten for pleasure, and why. Margaery had her full attention on him, completely ignoring the pained whimpers of Littlefinger. She brought a hand up and touched over his face. This man, her Bolton husband, was such a man of honor. Truly he valued the women in his life, to protect them so fiercely.

"I love you - to think there was a time I didn't think I would be happy marrying you," she mused, leaning up and kissing him, deep and passionate.

Hannibal saw the smile and he also noted how she began to come back to herself after he explained it to her. He returned the deep kiss as he pulled her right against his body. He then took a step back and motioned towards their children. "Why don't you sit with our children while I put dinner upon plates for us to enjoy?" He said.

Margaery smiled, happy and bubbly once again as she looked up to him. She was sated and confident that he would protect her and their beautiful children. Margaery nodded in reply to his question and moved towards the babies.

"I'm curious and anxious to taste this fine meal you've prepared for us," Margaery settled into the seat near the crib and peeked inside. Reina and Rhys were cuddled in close to one another. Rhys suckled his thumb while Reina breathed heavily.

Margaery smiled and stroked each child's brow. She could never have imagined mothering such strong, beautiful children.

Hannibal smiled to her as he moved to check the meat. He sliced off small pieces in a way where it would look like normal meat. After he had sliced off enough for both Margaery and himself. Once they both had enough food, he tossed the remaining pieces to Moanna and Vhagar to enjoy. He did not want Margaery to stare at the remaining bit of limb and her resolve falter.

He brought the plates to their seats and set one down in front of his seat as well as hers. He took his seat next to his wife as he raised his glass to his wife to a toast of a successful hunt.

Moanna and Vhagar were happy for the treat. They munched happily and didn't growl at one another.

Margaery watched as Hannibal cut the meat, keeping herself strong and willing her stomach not to turn. She tilted her head as he brought the plates and took her glass from him. It looked like any other meat, she felt better about eating the prepared meal. She smiled and toasted Hannibal.

"To us, to a successful hunt, and to the defeat of our enemies," she proposed her toast.

Hannibal nodded his head as he drank down the toast with her. He smiled as he lifted a piece of the leg first, that would be far easier for her to eat first than the liver. "Enjoy my dear." He said.

Margaery drank to the toast and then reached for her utensils. She watched Hannibal's movements and followed his lead, taking a piece of the leg first. As it was, it seemed more appetizing than the liver. Tentatively she brought the meat to her lips and ate the piece she'd cut free.

It was...surprisingly familiar. Leaner than chicken and venison, but with similar texture. Margaery remembered having bear meat at her wedding to Renly. The texture was not that different. She looked up to Hannibal and smiled.

"Expertly seasoned, as expected, my love," she praised.

Hannibal smiled to her, looking very pleased with himself for doing well enough for her not to truly taste a difference. "Thank you my dear. The fox was quite lean indeed." He said before then taking up a piece of the liver.

She was hesitant to take a piece of the liver, but Margaery cut a piece and brought it to her lips. The smell was different, and when she put it in her mouth she immediately felt the difference in texture. The organ was a bit slick and almost slimy. But she chewed it, savored the sweet taste and swallowed it slowly.

"Very sweet...I didn't expect that," she nodded slowly, appreciating the flavor.

Hannibal nodded his head. "This has more flavor than the muscle. The muscle is good, lean meat. However, the best flavors are found within the body." He explained as they continued to slowly eat their meal.

"My experienced, worldly husband," Margaery chuckled as she ate more of the liver. She didn't finish it completely before she began eating the leg again. It was a bit easier to stomach and swallow than the liver, as it was so similar to bear meat that she'd had before. "Tell me, lover - do you have a preference?" Between animal flesh and human flesh, she meant.

Hannibal knew the true intention of her question. He gave a nod of his head to answer her. "I do indeed my love. However, my preference is far more difficult to hunt for clean meat." He gave as an explanation of what it was without directly stating it.

Margaery was a little unnerved by his answer, but she knew he would never hurt her, nor their beloved children. "Do you intend to hunt more frequently when we take King's Landing?" She worried that such preferences would be found out easily in the capital, and that the masses would riot against them if they knew. Margaery also wondered if his preference was in truth a compulsion, and if it would overpower him one day.

Hannibal chuckled softly at that. "There is no worthy prey in King's landing, and there are none south of King's landing who have wronged me in any way to even be considered." He answered truthfully.

This habit was not a compulsion on his part. He had full control over himself and would not endanger their position by an over indulgence.

Margaery smiled and reached out for his hand. She squeezed her fingers around his hand, considering his words. Margaery bit her lower lip as she looked up into his eyes. "...will you...I mean, will I be enough for you? Will you grow bored? Will the children and I be enough to keep you entertained?"

Hannibal saw the questions in her eyes and he slid his chair back before pulling her into his lap. He held her close as he looked deep into her eyes. "I don't see how I could possibly tire of your company my love. It will take me seven lifetimes at least to learn half of your secrets, talents, and true desires." He began.

One of his hands moved to rest on her belly. "At the rate we are going, I doubt either of us will grow tired of raising our children."

Margaery settled into his lap and rested her forehead against his as she listened carefully. She smirked at his teasing and nodded slowly. "It seems as though every day I learn something new of you, my love. So that goes either way."

She rested her hand over his on her belly and smiled. "Indeed, at the rate we're going, we might have a full army solely composed of our children."

Hannibal smiled as he kissed her temple and continued to gently caress her belly. He raised an eyebrow at her words. "Are you trying to tell me we need more cribs already?" He teased.

He could see Littlefinger beginning to struggle breathing from being suspended for so long. He knew that it would not be long before he cut the man's head off to send to Jaime Lannister.
