[For Jorah] Under the Targaryen Banner

The rebellion had been crushed.

The Baratheons were punished and Robert was beheaded for leading the charge against the Targaryen banner. Battles had been waged and fought all across Westeros, and luckily for the Targaryens, they had plenty of loyal supporters who fought for them. The Mormont clan were such supporters. Particularly Jorah Mormont, who was knighted by the King when the war was over.

But he didn't stop there.

Jorah's loyalty and devotion to the Targaryen banner was so great and his deeds were so admirable that the King took it a step further. He made Jorah Warden of the North, and sent his youngest child, his daughter Daenerys, to meet Jorah at Winterfell.

Another reward for Ser Jorah Mormont: She was to be his bride.

Daenerys wasn't sure how she felt about the North. On the carriage ride all she did was pull the furs about her tighter, to keep her warm. When they finally arrived at Winterfell, it began to snow lightly all around them. A Gold Cloak had been sent North to see that Daenerys was delivered safely, and he opened the carriage door for her to let her out.

Jorah rumbled lowly as she moved like that. He rocked up into her as his hands continue to work over her breasts and nipples. He enjoyed seeing how she was reacting as she moved atop of him.

Daenerys continued to roll her hips and body, chasing their combined pleasure. Her back arched to press more of her breasts into his hands. Daenerys moaned at the feeling of his release filling her up. She rolled over slowly, letting him slide out so that she could cuddle next to him. Sated, satisfied, weary.

It had been a few days since their wedding, and Daenerys was slowly adjusting to the cold. Her brother had left, growing tired of the cold and lonely for his Kings Landing whores. So now, Jorah had told her of his interest to show her Bear Island, his ancestral home.

She had grown close to her husband, and her heart skipped whole beats when he was near. Daenerys found herself anxious to see her husband's ancestral home.

Clad in a thick, dark dress and a cloak of bear fur, Daenerys found her husband in the courtyard preparing for their departure. "Are we nearly ready to leave, husband?" She smiled, her violet eyes aglow with delight as she approached Jorah.

Jorah was absolutely thrilled about how excited she was to go to bear island. He was relieved when her brother had left and he was finally able to just enjoy spending time with his wife.

Everything was prepared for their journey and he turned to smile at her when she approached him. He kissed her chastely as he nodded his head. "We are indeed. Are you prepared my lady?"

Daenerys smiled and kissed him back. Then she in turn nodded and glanced to the castle. "I need only the luggage amassed in our chamber, but yes, I am ready and anxious to go."

Her hand wrapped around his, lacing her fingers with his as she looked up to him. "Wouldn't it be wonderful if we conceived a child in the same place you were born?" She whispered.

Jorah smiled as he signalled for some servants to begin gathering the luggage and taking it to the carriages. He then leaned in as she moved up to speak into his ear. There was a broad smile on his face as he nodded at her words. "That would indeed be wonderful." He said eagerly.

Daenerys grinned and waited for all the luggage to be loaded into the carriages. Once it was done she looked up to Jorah expectantly. "Will it be much colder on Bear Island, Jorah?"

Jorah nodded as head as he offered his hand to his wife to assist her into the carriage. "It is about the same." He said. "But I promise to keep you warm."

Seeing Jorah's ancestral home had been a wonderful little vacation for Daenerys. Affairs of the North were put on hold and handled by his lords in Winterfell. Daenerys and Jorah were simply able to enjoy Bear Island for themselves. As they returned home, Daenerys prayed to the Old Gods and the New that their trip would result in a son.

But when they returned, dark news soon reached Winterfell. Daenerys frowned upon hearing that Viserys had more or less forced their father out of the throne and asserted his rule over the Seven Kingdoms. What was more alarming was the news that he was bringing women by the dozens to the Red Keep and torturing them, having his way with them - treating them as pets and not as human beings. Daenerys became despondent.

She took to shutting herself in the library and just staring out the windows to look upon the winter scenery. How long would it be until Viserys sent his soldiers further North? How long would it be until he summoned her husband to battle again?

Jorah had greatly enjoyed their trip to his home. However, the news when they had returned to Winterfell was indeed dark. The men of the North were greatly displeased with this turn of events. He heard quite a few mention that they wished their Princess ruled rather than her brother. He also heard many of them say that they would refuse to fight for Viserys regardless of his threats.

Jorah was even more worried at how negatively his wife had taken the news. He approached their chambers with her favorite snack and extra blankets. He sat next to her to wrap her up in the extra blanket as he offered her some fruit. "How long will you be melancholy?" He asked softly.

Daenerys cuddled into the blanket as Jorah wrapped her in it. Idly she took a strawberry and nibbled at it. When he posed his question she looked up at him and sighed. "How am I to be happy when I know so many suffer because of my brother's rule?" She looked absently into a corner of the room and pulled the furs closer to herself. "If Rhaegar were alive this never would have happened."

Jorah put his strong arm around his wife and pulled her close. "What would he have done that could not still be done?" He asked gently. He wanted her to break free of this melancholy, but he knew that depending on how she chose to handle her brother would determine if they would be traveling down a dangerous path.

He would not push her to make a public announcement about her feelings of what was happening unless she was ready to. However, the leaders were pressuring him to get an answer out of her sooner than later. He kissed her temple gently as he waited for her to speak.

Daenerys looked to Jorah, her violet eyes wide, as if surprised by the question. But it was fair enough; she bit her lower lip, considering her answer.

"No doubt he could have done the same things...but Rhaegar was not as cruel as Viserys..." Daenerys shook her head. "He would not do these things. He would rule with kindness, but sternness."

She shook her head, burying her face in her hands as she rubbed over her face with her palms. "What am I to do? I cannot abide this..."

Jorah shook his head as he continued to hold her close. "No, what would Rhaegar have done after your brother did these things?" He asked.

He knew his wife was brave and loyal and fought for justice. He could see her leading an army and inspiring warriors to put the seven kingdoms back to how they should be. He was deeply worried that Viserys would send for her to be his wife and find a way to kill him off.

Daenerys thought for a long moment, leaning more into his arms. "...he would stand against Viserys. Well, truly Viserys would not have done this if Rhaegar were alive. But Rhaegar would stand against him and put a stop to his cruelty..."

She looked up to Jorah with glassy eyes. "Is that what I should do?" Daenerys was not certain she could.

Jorah tightened his grip so that she would feel safer in his arms. He listened as she spoke. He turned to look deep into those violet eyes. "You are the mother of Dragons. You managed to bring the North together again. Yes, I think you could." He said as he kissed her forehead.

He brushed some of her hair behind her ear. "No matter what you decide, you will always have me by your side." He paused a moment before adding, "And the men of the north have pledged themselves to you." He said. His wife already had a powerful army at her disposal, along with her dragons. Just a few victories and claiming the eerie would give her a major advantage.

Daenerys cuddled closer to him and pressed her face against the crook of his neck. "You've already fought in a dreadful war, my love," she sighed. "I don't want to think about you going into battle again."

She couldn't stand the idea of losing him. No, not her Jorah. She needed him. Daenerys leaned back and looked up into his eyes. "But I cannot abide his actions. He'll set his eyes on realms outside the Seven Kingdoms at this rate. And those who refuse his service, he'll burn alive..." her voice began to crack, imagining Jorah and the other lords of the North, brought to King's Landing in shackles and put before the dragons, burned alive all while Viserys laughed.

Jorah felt her resistance to diving into a war. He clenched his jaw for a moment before gently looking deep into her eyes. "War will be upon us one way or another. The advantage is that acting sooner would spring surprise on Viserys." He said.

He kissed her forehead gently. "I will never leave your side. I won't go out into battle unless you order me to." He swore to her.

Daenerys nearly burst into tears as he swore himself to her. But slowly she nodded. "...he has to be stopped..."

She looked up with a little more determination. "Will the North stand with us if we oppose Viserys? There will be no quarter if they turn against the South...they have to understand the risk involved..."

Jorah gently brushed the tears from her face as he pressed his forehead to hers. "You are blood of the Dragon Daenerys. You are strong and fierce. You are the only person in the seven kingdoms who can right the wrongs and bring peace back to this world." He said with pure honesty and love.

He smiled when he saw the determination in her eyes. His grin grew slowly as he nodded his head. "The North stands behind YOU. You have won their hearts and respect. The North always remembers and the North is unwaveringly loyal. They will stand by their pledges and fight to the last." He said.

Daenerys was emboldened by his words, but there were lingering facts that she worried about, things from the past. "They would stand behind a Targaryen? I mean...we destroyed the Stark clan during and after the war, and the North was fiercely loyal to me. How can I ask them to match their metal to mine when I come from the clan who slaughtered their own?"

Jorah smiled as he brushed his thumb over her cheek. "Because the house of Stark is ruled by a young lady whom you befriended and honored. They see you as what house Targaryen should be and will look past the faults of your ancestors. They will live a longer, fuller life with you ruling rather than your brother." He answered her simply.
