[For Jorah] Under the Targaryen Banner

The rebellion had been crushed.

The Baratheons were punished and Robert was beheaded for leading the charge against the Targaryen banner. Battles had been waged and fought all across Westeros, and luckily for the Targaryens, they had plenty of loyal supporters who fought for them. The Mormont clan were such supporters. Particularly Jorah Mormont, who was knighted by the King when the war was over.

But he didn't stop there.

Jorah's loyalty and devotion to the Targaryen banner was so great and his deeds were so admirable that the King took it a step further. He made Jorah Warden of the North, and sent his youngest child, his daughter Daenerys, to meet Jorah at Winterfell.

Another reward for Ser Jorah Mormont: She was to be his bride.

Daenerys wasn't sure how she felt about the North. On the carriage ride all she did was pull the furs about her tighter, to keep her warm. When they finally arrived at Winterfell, it began to snow lightly all around them. A Gold Cloak had been sent North to see that Daenerys was delivered safely, and he opened the carriage door for her to let her out.

Jorah had been by her side as they made their battle plans. The war was indeed long, but there was very little unnecessary loss of innocents. They had managed to surprise the false King and win over many of his enemies. He had been hesitant to send a messenger in person and saw the headless body returning with a touch of sadness. That man had willingly volunteered...his family had been killed by the false King and he wanted the pleasure of causing him great discomfort in delivering that message.

Jorah was standing next to Viserion, the white dragon who was only slightly smaller than Drogon. He nodded and mounted the great white dragon and flying after his wife. Viserion was smaller than Drogon, but was still considerably larger than the dragon the enrages Viserys' dragon.

Daenerys had been saddened and enraged when the messenger came back beheaded. This would not go unheeded. She would have her vengeance for the man.

As Jorah flew on Viserion's back up into the sky with her, Daenerys flew higher on Drogon. Viserys sat upon his dragon, much smaller than her two, clad in red armor with his eyes narrowed as he looked to his sister.

"You dare send a messenger to threaten me? You dare stand against me?" Viserys roared. "I AM KING!"

"Our father was king. You bullied him from the throne and drove our people into bondage," Daenerys snapped. "I will not stand by any longer and watch you do this!"

"There will be no mercy," Viserys glared at Jorah now. "You will all burn."

Jorah stayed by Daenerys' side as best he could. His dragon flew alongside its brother easily. His dragon seemed annoyed at the considerably smaller dragon beneath the false King. He said nothing to allow his wife to treat with her brother. He was close enough for her to hear him. "What is your command?" He asked. He would do whatever she asked.

Daenerys thought a long moment when Jorah spoke. Her eyes narrowed at Viserys as she looked at him. She wasn't the scared little girl anymore who had allowed him to bully her.

"This is your last opportunity, brother," Daenerys' voice turned grave. "Surrender. Or you will die."

Viserys answered by charging forward on his dragon, meaning to knock Daenerys loose. Drogon ducked down and nosedived towards the ground. Then he came back up and hit Viserys' dragon from the belly.

Jorah watched the exchange and nodded at her words. When the opening was presented Viserion closed his jaws around the smaller dragons neck and breathed fire to kill it. He told Viserion to hold his kill. He looked to his wife. "Orders your grace?" He asked.

Before Daenerys could answer, Viserys' dragon snapped its neck out and threw Drogon and Daenerys. They weren't far from the ground, luckily - but they were far enough.

Daenerys toppled off Drogon and hit the ground belly-first. Immediately she felt blood gush between her legs and trickle down to the ground. Pain shot through her entire body, and in that instant, she knew what had happened.

She had missed her bleeding for the last few weeks, her breasts had gotten a bit bigger. Daenerys had wanted to wait to tell Jorah her suspicions when they entered King's Landing. But evidently, that would never be.

The force of the fall had caused her to lose the baby.

Jorah had felt his heart stop for a moment when she fell. He saw the blood and despair and rage filled him simultaneously. He gave the command and both dragons released their flames upon Viserys and his dead dragon.

There were tears in the depths of his eyes as he guided Viserion to the ground. He slid off of the dragon and slowly walked towards his wife. He knelt down with a heavy thid next to her body. Bracing himself to see her lifeless eyes, he turned her over.

Daenerys was still breathing. Her chest heaved up and down, but she was too scared to move. Maybe the baby was all right, maybe it was something else...

But no. It could be nothing else.

As Jorah turned her she burst into tears. She buried her face into his neck and sobbed bitterly. Daenerys couldn't speak to tell him what had happened. Her hands went to her belly as she continued to bleed.

Finally, through her sobs she managed two words: "The baby..."

Jorah's heart had stopped again when he saw that she was alive. He didn't even question how with all of that blood. He just hugged her tight as he sobbed and kissed all over the side of her face. " You're alive, when I saw the blood I had....I had feared the worst." He said.

He was so relieved that she was breathing that he nearly missed her words. He pulled back to look into her eyes. He then looked down her body and saw how she was clutching her belt and how the blood continued to flow. He shook his head as he looked at her. He placed his hands on either side of her face and looked deep into her eyes. "Daenerys...you are alive and I am alive. That is all that matters." He said. His eyes showed deep love for her and he left it unsaid, but they could have a child in time. Although, he was going to take her to the Maester's very soon.

Daenerys still wept even as he held her so close and looked into her eyes to assure her. It hurt so much...and the blood wasn't stopping. He was right, she knew it - they were alive, they could conceive again, hopefully. But she was so very sad; she would have liked to announce a new heir when she herself would be coronated.

As she thought of her brother, she looked over to the charred remains of his dragon and his body. She frowned before turning and burying her face again into Jorah's neck.

"Then it's done?" Could they finally march on the Red Keep in peace? This loss of her child...suddenly Daenerys didn't want to fight anymore.

Jorah held her close as both of their dragons circled around them to keep them safe. He nodded his head at her question and kissed her forehead tenderly. "It's over. His generals will surrender under threat of dragon fire. I will ensure that all heralds make the proclamation that those who bend the knee will be shown mercy. Those who still intend to resist will be tried. His military officers and the high lords who supported him will be captured to face judgement for what they did by being judged by you." He said.

A guard had come and he told the man to fetch the Maester's.

Daenerys smiled weakly and nodded. That was good news at least. She may have lost her child, their baby, but at least she had defeated her brother. Now the Seven Kingdoms would have peace and they could rest a little bit easier.

Drogon settled beside her and nuzzled his head against his mother's arm. Daenerys rubbed along his snout and smiled slightly. "I'm sorry, I lost your brother or sister..." she whimpered softly.

Jorah held her close as the Maester rushed in. The Maester bowed his head lowly. "Pardons your Majesty, but I must check your body." He said.

Jorah said a word and Viserion curled his tail so that they were blocked from view. "Do what is necessary Maester." He said. He held his wife as he waited for the Maester to see if she had gained any other injuries.

Daenerys felt searing pain in her core as she was moved, but it was starting to lessen now, thank the Gods. As the Maester moved to examine her, Drogon growled lowly. But Daenerys soothed him by shushing softly and stroking his snout.

When his hands moved over her body, Daenerys winced, but she felt little pain. Which was an improvement, in her mind. Still, the fear was paralyzing.

Jorah held her and slid his hand into hers to hold as she was examined. The Maester frowned deeply as he cleaned her up and used a cloth to wipe the blood away. He examined the ground as well and scooped something up to inspect it. There was sadness in his eyes as he looked at them. "Your majesties, there is a small child here. I fear I cannot determine its gender. I do not see the liquid that should have been around the child, you might pass that slowly over the next few months. Shall I keep this a secret? Or do you desire a proper burial for the Royal child?" He asked with humbleness and genuine sadness.

Jorah was deeply saddened by this and he kissed her temple gently as he looked at the Maester, "Does she have any injuries?" He was concerned that she might bleed to death. He then turned to look into her eyes. "Which path do you desire? I would have them buried, but we can keep this a secret if you desire." He said tenderly.

Daenerys continued to weep, though not as violently as before. She thought for a long moment before looking up to Jorah. Her hand went for his, giving it a slight squeeze. "Many have lost children and parents in this horrible altercation. We should let them know that we share in their pain."

She took a deep breath before nodding to the Maester. "We will bury our child properly. We will mourn with our fellow Westerosi."

The Maester nodded as he carefully folded the fabric to cover the baby. He bowed his head as he stood. He turned back to look at them. "It was well formed and strong. I predict that future children will be very healthy your majesties." He said before walking off to make arrangements for a small casket to keep the body until it's funeral.

Jorah nodded as he pulled his wife close. He kissed her temple tenderly. "Let me take you back to our tent. You need to rest." He said as he adjusted his arms to cradle her as he slowly stood.

Daenerys wept again as the Maester wrapped their baby. Gods, how far along had she been? She hadn't noticed anything different, her belly had not yet begun to swell, at least she didn't think...

She had been so absorbed by this war, she had neglected to care for her unborn child. Daenerys looked up and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...this is all my fault." She whimpered. "I didn't care for our child. Please, forgive me Jorah..."

Jorah felt his heart being tugged when she said that. His eyes watered briefly as he pressed his forehead lightly to hers. He looked deep into her eyes with nothing but love and compassion. "This is not your fault. There is nothing for me to forgive Daenerys. You were doing what was right. I should have protected you better. It is my fault for allowing you to fall." He said. He truly was more upset with himself for not putting himself in danger before her.

Daenerys again found herself fortunate and beyond blessed to have Jorah as her husband. She buried her face into his neck as he carried her. "I fell, it wasn't your fault. I should have held tighter to Drogon." Really. She was the Dragon Queen. Riding on Drogon's back without falling should have been minimal trouble for her. Yet she had fallen, and as a result, she lost their child.

Jorah knew they were both in pain and were in sorrow, but he wanted her to know that he still loves her and will plant another child within her when she is ready. He kissed her temple tenderly, "Perhaps you are simply out of practice on riding something that shifts beneath you so much. I would be happy to assist you with practicing in our tent." He said with a half smile.

He was not making light of this, but he was wanting to put either a scolding look or a smile on her face.

His comment allowed Daenerys to summon the strength to lightly smack him in the chest. She frowned up at him, but after a moment a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. As much as she hated to admit it, he had indeed made her smile.

"Fool," she shook her head and kissed along his jaw. "Such a crazy, foolish, bear of a husband I have."

But she wouldn't trade him for anyone in the world.

Jorah took the light hit as if nothing had happened. At her smile there was relief in her eyes. He bowed his head and spoke lowly for her. "I would be willing to sum it myself to your mercy for such foolish words my Queen." He said humbly.

He was glad to see her find a moment to smile. It would be better for the morale of their troops to see her in control of herself and not a weeping mess.

Daenerys smiled and kissed along Jorah's jaw. She was still sore, in pain from her fall and losing the baby. It might be a time before she could accommodate his cock again. But she longed to be held by him, that they could mourn their child in peace before sharing their pain with her other supporters.

"I love you," she whispered.

Jorah smiled at her softly as he kissed her temple. "I love you, Daenerys." He whispered before carrying her through the camp and directly into their tent. He signaled for privacy and their guards created a perimeter around the tent. He laid her on their bed and removed both if their sets of armor. Once they were down to regular clothing, he pulled her close and wrapped his arms around her tightly so that she could feel his warmth and comfort.

"I am here Daenerys." He said softly as his hand soothingly moved over the back of her head. He was prepared for her sorrow and grief as he held her close.
