[For Jorah] Under the Targaryen Banner

The rebellion had been crushed.

The Baratheons were punished and Robert was beheaded for leading the charge against the Targaryen banner. Battles had been waged and fought all across Westeros, and luckily for the Targaryens, they had plenty of loyal supporters who fought for them. The Mormont clan were such supporters. Particularly Jorah Mormont, who was knighted by the King when the war was over.

But he didn't stop there.

Jorah's loyalty and devotion to the Targaryen banner was so great and his deeds were so admirable that the King took it a step further. He made Jorah Warden of the North, and sent his youngest child, his daughter Daenerys, to meet Jorah at Winterfell.

Another reward for Ser Jorah Mormont: She was to be his bride.

Daenerys wasn't sure how she felt about the North. On the carriage ride all she did was pull the furs about her tighter, to keep her warm. When they finally arrived at Winterfell, it began to snow lightly all around them. A Gold Cloak had been sent North to see that Daenerys was delivered safely, and he opened the carriage door for her to let her out.

Jorah smiled as he kissed over her belly tenderly. He continued to speak soft words of encouragement to their child as he kissed over her belly. He continued to gently massage her lower back. "Does that feel good my love?" He asked softly.

Daenerys smiled, continuing to stroke over his hair as he whispered to their child. It did feel better, but her face still contorted in slight discomfort. "It does...but still so tight...my whole body feels tense..." Something wasn't right.

Jorah's eyes flash up to her when he sees the pain and hears that. "You feel right? Do you feel strong pain as well?" He asked with a worried look on his face.

Daenerys shook her head. "No...not strong pain...just..." It was suddenly difficult to breathe. She took her breaths in deep heaves, placing a hand to her chest. Suddenly she felt as though she needed to urinate, and she felt fluid burst from her core and pain shot through her.

"Jorah....the Maester-!" She cried out in pain.

Jorah was surprised when she cried out like that. He felt the fluid splash upon him and instinctively knew that their child was coming. He didn't hesitate. Jorah stood and scooped her into his arms. He ran with her in his arms back to the chambers they had set up in perpetration for this day. He told servants in the halls to fetch the Maester immediately.

He laid her in the chambers just as the Maester rushed in. Servants were sent out for water and towels. Jorah was by her side to hold her hand and move her as the Maester said so that she could give birth.

Daenerys gasped and groaned softly in pain as he lifted her. She buried her face into his neck and whimpered softly as the baby moved inside her. Once he set her in the bed, Daenerys felt the pain and ache of her first full contraction. She cried out and felt her entire body seize.

The Maester arrived soon enough and had the servants push her dress up to help her give birth. He used a variety of oils and techniques to help ease her pain. Daenerys breathed heavily, looking to Jorah for support. It was several hours of this before the Maester announced that the baby was crowning, and he was able to get the child out.

He tended the baby and cleaned it up, but Daenerys still cried out. Something was still moving inside her. The Maester handed the baby to a servant, who moved beside Jorah.

"Wh....what's happening?" Daenerys cried out.

"Majesty, you've been blessed with a baby boy - but it would seem you have another blessing coming to the world," the Maester smiled to try and calm her. "You were carrying twins."

The servant leaned down to show Jorah and Daenerys the crying baby boy in her arms. Daenerys was in shock - twins? Suddenly everything made sense.

Jorah was kissing her temple and giving her encouraging words as she went into full labor. He never left her side and had a look of joy followed immediately by worry when she seemed to still be in pain and discomfort.

He had spotted their first child, but was focused on what the Maester was saying. He turned to see their son as he smiled and kissed her temple. "You can do this my love. Just a few more pushes then you can rest." He encouraged her.

He was absolutely stunned at this news. However, it did explain why she had grown so large and why the child had seemed so active. He gave her hand a tender squeeze as he brushed a hand over the top of her head lovingly.

Daenerys pushed and followed the instructions of the Maester. Her body was exhausted, until finally the second baby crowned and the Maester guided it out of the birth canal.

The Maester cleaned the baby and handed it to Daenerys. "One of each, your majesties. A son and a daughter."

Daenerys held the daughter, the servant handed the son to Jorah.

Once he felt her relax, he laid down next to her and wrapped an arm around her to kiss her temple gently. "You are so very strong." He said tenderly.

He smiled even wider when they found out that they had one of each gender. As they were handed their children, he chuckled as he held their son close to his sister. "So I was right that you were carrying a daughter." He teased lightly. He kissed the top of each child's head. "You are both beautiful and perfect." He said with pride.

Daenerys leaned into Jorah and nuzzled his chest. She laughed softly as she rocked their daughter in her arms. "And I was right that I was carrying a son. Twins...I never would have imagined."

She leaned down and kissed the daughter's head. "You both gave me quite a bit of trouble, but I'm so very happy to see you..." she smiled.

Jorah smiled as he looked at both of their small, beautiful faces. They had not cried yet, but they were breathing. He smiled as he looked to Daenerys. "What should we name them?" He asked as he looked at their beautiful children. It was too early to tell if either of them had inherited Daenerys' hair or his own.

Daenerys smiled as she rocked the baby and looked to their son. She chuckled and looked between them. "Jaslin," Daenerys said, looking to Jorah. "What do you think? Jaslin for the girl?"

Jorah's face lit up at that. "That is beautiful." He said as he gently kisses her forehead. "My sweet little Jaslin." He said.

He looked at their son. "What do you think of Jorys for our son?" He asked.

Daenerys smiled and brought a hand up to press her fingers to his belly. "Perfect, a name similar to his father's, carrying on the family name." She chuckled and kissed their son's cheek before looking up at Jorah. "Jorys and Jaslin. Our perfect children."

Jorah smiled as he nodded his head in agreement. "Our perfect children Jorys and Jaslin." He said. Both children smiled and opened their eyes. Jorah looked a bit stunned at what he saw before smiling himself. Their children were indeed unique. Jaslin's left eye matches Daenerys and her right eye matched his own. Young Jorys also had two different eyes; however, the eye that matched Daenerys was his right eye. "They are a perfect blend of the two of us." He said with pride.

Daenerys hadn't noticed at first, she was too thrilled at seeing the babies smile. So soon after they were born. Then when Jorah spoke again, Daenerys looked closer. Upon seeing their eyes and how different they were. She looked up to Jorah with wide eyes, and back to the babies. "Gods, but they are! Look at them. You don't think there's anything wrong, do you?"

Jorah looked up to the Maester in concern at her question.

The Maester smiled gently, "Both children are perfectly healthy your Graces. I will draw up their birth documents immediately. Will they be of house Targaryn?" He asked.

Jorah smiled brightly as he kissed Daenerys. "Our children are perfect and healthy." He said until he heard the Maester's question. He looked to his wife. "It is your choice my Queen." He said with a tender smile.

Daenerys was relieved when the Maester reported that the babies were healthy. She held Jaslin up and smiled to Jorah. "Want to hold your daughter? I'd like to hold my son."

She thought on his question and a slow smile crept across her face. "I think they should choose. When they come of age they should choose whether they wish to identify as house Mormont or house Targaryen."

Daenerys looked up to him and tilted her head. "Thoughts, my love?"

Jorah chuckled as he switched which child he was holding. "You truly believe she will come to me for council as she grows older?" He teased.

He held Jaslin as he heard the option Daenerys suggested. He nodded in agreement before turning to the Maester. "They will choose their house once they are of age. You may draw up the documents for Prince Jorys and Princess Jaslin, the first of their names." He said with pride and joy. He liked that they could choose.

Daenerys laughed softly and leaned up to kiss Jorah. "She will. I did."

She waited for the Maester to leave before leaning into him and rocking their son. Soon the babies began to whimper and cry, wanting a meal. Daenerys moved her dress and allowed him to feed. Jaslin began to cry. "Shhhh, my love, you will be able to feed soon."

Jorah smiled as he looked into Jaslin's eyes. He saw Daenerys put Jorys to her breast. He began to gently rock her and he hummed to soothe their small daughter. "Shhhh my sweet Jaslin. You will have your meal shortly. Next time you will get the first meal and your brother will wait his turn." He said gently.

Jaslin seemed calmed by his words. She reached out with her little hands to squeeze Jorah's fingers.

Daenerys smiled as Jorys fed happily from her breast. "Your son is almost as ravenous as you are." She giggled.

Jorah smiled as he looked over at his son. He chuckled before looking back at Jaslin and allowing her to grip his fingers. "I think you will have even more little one." He said as he gave Daenerys a knowing smirk as he continued to keep her calm and quiet.

After a few minutes, Jorys let go and Daenerys lifted the baby to burp him. When he was taken care of she looked to Jorah and held up their son. "Will you be so kind as to give me my daughter?"

Jorah chuckled as he leaned down to whisper, even though Daenerys could head. "It will be our secret that you like me better." He said as he switched children with his wife. He flashed a smile to his young son. "I know how delicious that is son. Enjoy the flavor while you can." He said.
