Daenerys nuzzled into Jorah's jawline, brushing her lips over his chin and neck. "The look on his face - he was not expecting me to have company. I can't help it, I found it amusing."

She rested her head against his shoulder as she cuddled against him again. "Am I wrong for finding amusement in his reaction?"

Jorah chuckled as he relaxed into her nuzzle. "I found it quite amusing. I see nothing wrong with feeling amused at his reaction. It was quite the look on his face. I did not realize he could be so surprised."

Daenerys traced invisible patterns on his chest with her fingers. There was a moment's pause before she spoke again. "You realize he'll confront you the very first moment he can get you alone, do you not? He will not be pleased."

Jorah chuckled at that before kissing her forehead again. "Even if I am not alone I suspect that he will confront me. Although, I doubt it would be anywhere near your presence." He said before continuing, "He would not do anything more than throw a punch or two now that I have been officially pardoned." He said.

After a moment he looked into her eyes, "Did you receive my message about preparing the city for protection so that you can free your children from that small room?"

She wasn't worried per se. If this trial had proved anything, it was that Jorah was more than capable of handling himself. Still, there was a flicker of concern on her face at the thought of Daario confronting him. "Be careful," she kissed over his jaw. Not wanting harm to come to him.

Daenerys leaned up, resting on her side to look at him properly when he mentioned the plans he'd sent her and the mention of her dragons. "I did - do you really think it can work? I worry that it will take too much time and money that we do not have as of yet."

Jorah felt a spark of hope when she showed so much worry for him. "I promise to be careful." He said.

As to her worries of cost and time. "I think that the vast wealth of the recently discovered traitors could be put to use to pay for these changes and that, perhaps, all boys and girls who would like training in metal working could be offered apprenticeships to learn the trades during the construction. That would give you a whole new generation of workers, and apprentices are less expensive and provide more goods in the long run." He said before continuing. "I was also thinking that you could prepare two nests for now and perhaps a third later in the tops of some of these pyramids for your children to live in. Those who are condemned to die are sent to place sheep and other such livestock within your children's range. That way innocent lives will not be at risk until their new found freedom tempers them once again. Then you can once again be close to your children and your people would be safe." There was a danger if one of the dragons was provoked into attacking the city. Jorah also had an idea to plant a chemical on the skin of those sent to feed the dragons so that if they were killed the meat would taste rotten and perhaps the dragons would eventually become less inclined to kill people for food.

Daenerys paid careful attention as he explained his idea in further detail. Slowly a smile crept across her features and she leaned in to kiss him. "My most brilliant adviser," again she wondered how she had ever let him go.

"But how can you be so sure my children will not react violently when we let them out of the dungeons? Or worse yet, fly away and never return?" She worried, remembering the last time she had gone to her dragons in some attempt to soothe them. "You did not see their anger when last I saw them..."

Jorah brushed her cheek gently with his thumb. Have the doors torn down and make a show of opening their dungeon so that they can see and hear you. Speak loudly and sound as if you are commanding their release. Then go in and call for them, tell them that you are getting them out of that dark hell. Dragons are smart Daenerys, they likely will burn the first things that come into their path other than you. We can leave a few trails of livestock up to the two nests in hopes of them following those trails, but you must be willing to let them out even if they do fly away. Perhaps, Drogon will return once he hears his brothers during the day and night once again." He added as a spark of hope for her. Drogon was by far her favorite and Jorah saw how it pained her when he first left.

"They nearly roasted me alive last time I was in there," Daenerys told him sadly. Her fingers continued to trail over his chest. But she could see how his plan might work. Viserion and Rhaegal were the more level-headed of her children. Drogon was the wild one - but yes, he was her favorite. The idea that he might come back...she was willing to risk whatever she had to for that. "...you really think it can work?"

Jorah kissed her softly, "Last time you were not going in there to free them." He said. He was indeed worried that her safety would be at risk for this, but he also knew that she had a better chance of surviving than any other.

His words comforted her. Daenerys may not have been certain regarding the outcome of releasing her dragons, but somehow with Jorah by her side once again, Daenerys wasn't worried.

Releasing her dragons had gone much better than Daenerys could have imagined. Setting up the nests for them near the city so that they could fly and be free had allowed them their independence. But Daenerys was with them and treated them so often that they soon rekindled their love for their mother. Everything seemed to fall back into place. Word soon spread that Daenerys Targaryen had reclaimed control of Slaver's Bay and that her dragons were bigger and stronger than ever.

So it came as no surprise when there came an offer from Dorne. An invitation for Daenerys Stormborn to meet with the royal family to discuss an alliance against the Lannisters to reclaim Westeros under the red Targaryen sigil.

Daenerys, eager to expand her empire, left Ser Barristan to govern Slaver's Bay. She took Daario and of course Ser Jorah with her on her ship and the voyage to Dorne had begun. Drogon was not in attendance, but Viserion and Rhaegal flew playfully around the ship as they had so long ago when they were much younger. Daenerys leaned over the railing and just breathed in deep the scent of the ocean.

Jorah was immensely relieved when the plan to once again free the dragons had worked so well. His Queen was the happiest she had been in a very long time now that two of her children were once again close to her. He had been sending a few groups out to try and find Drogon. He had discovered where her favorite child had made his large nest. It was a few days ride from the city and they were loading the ships for her grand return to Westeros to reclaim her throne.

Jorah had three large rafts made that had metal atop them. They would be pulled behind the three largest ships in the fleet so that the dragons could have a place to rest when they grew tired of flying. Upon discovering Drogon's nest, Jorah had sent men to leave a trail of animals for the dragon to follow. He also took one of Daenery's old outfits that had the scent of the other two dragons on it as well and left a piece of that clothing near the trail of animals. His hope was that Drogon would follow and see them on the sea.

Their were two ships that carried nothing but livestock for the Dragon's to eat. All weapons were kept well out of sight and all of the crewmen wore a lotion on their bodies that made them smell foul to the dragons. They had been sailing for half a day when the last ship in the fleet reported a sighting.

Jorah walked up to his Queen with a smile on his face as he bowed. "Khaleesi, the ships at our flank have spotted something on the horizon behind us and gaining fast." He looked up at her. "It's Drogon."

Daenerys had noticed Jorah's movements as of late. The groups he spoke with and sent out. Grey Worm knew something, she suspected, but refused to tell her - he simply stated that it was something that would make the Khaleesi happy. It was Daario who spilled the details of Jorah's plan to her. Daenerys had rolled her eyes and waved Daario off at the time, but inside her heart had swelled, thinking of the trouble Jorah was going through for her. To reunite her with her child.

She did not tell Jorah that Daario had told her about his plan. But nor was she certain it would work. Drogon was strong and stubborn. He would not come if he didn't want to.

When Jorah approached her on deck, Daenerys tilted a brow when he said something was pursuing them. But her violet eyes lit when he told her it was Drogon. She could hardly believe it.

His plan had worked.

Without a word she bolted for the back of the ship and leaned over the railing to get a glimpse of Drogon. She spied the great black beast approaching, faster than his brothers by far. Daenerys had a huge smile on her face. "Drogon!!" She called out to him.

Jorah signaled for all of the crews to go below decks to be safe except for the men steering in specially designed to keep them out of sight from the dragons. He then went to join Daenerys at the back of the ship. "It seems your favorite child has finally desired to return to his mother." He said as he kept a careful eye on her so that she did not fall overboard.

Daenerys paid no mind to the sounds of the crew climbing below deck. She was too focused on Drogon as he approached. She bit her lower lip as tears welled in her eyes. Tears of pure joy. She glanced up to Jorah as he appeared beside her. "You did this, I know you did..." Daenerys threw her arms around his neck and she kissed him passionately. She didn't care who saw.

Jorah smiled as he pulled her close and returned that kiss. His closeness with the Queen was well known amongst the fighting men and if she did not care to hide her affection for him then he would not hold back either.

He pulled back and kissed her forehead as he heard the beating of the largest wings as Drogon approached their boat quickly. "You know? Perhaps I am no longer as stealthy about surprises as I used to be." He said with a chuckle. "Or did one of my brothers rat me out?" He said as Drogon landed on the raft behind their ship. Jorah used the chain to pull the raft closer, Drogon was large enough to rest his head on the railing from the raft.

Daenerys kept close to Jorah until Drogon was brought close enough to rest his head upon the railing. She reached down and gently stroked over his snout, Jorah's words lost to her as her world revolved around the prodigal dragon son. Daenerys nearly cried, feeling his warm scales beneath her fingers again. Then she glanced her violet eyes back to Jorah.

"I'm afraid someone revealed the nature of your meetings and your plan to me. But I am surprised and glad to see it achieved," Daenerys leaned up to kiss him again. "How am I to reward such a gift you've given me?"

Jorah chuckled as he realized it must have been Daario. The joy on her face for her favorite son to have returned to her put a smile on Jorah's face. He looked into those violet eyes with love. "Your happiness and returning to your kingdom are all I have desired of you." He paused for a moment. "If you desire a different reward I do have a request. Once we reach Westeros I have no doubt that all lords with lands and titles still to their name will request your hand in marriage for the advancement and safety of their house. All I ask is that you will allow me to stay close to you, I am willing to be a member of your Queensguard if only to be by your side whenever you have need of me."

Jorah was no fool. In Dorne he would still be able to enjoy her bed more freely if she desired. However, north of Dorne it would be seen as a scandal. He no longer had his title in Westeros and did not see himself worthy of asking for her hand. He had earned his honor and respect back with those who traveled on these ships. However, in Westeros he was still an outcast.

Daenerys had been planning on restoring Jorah's title when they returned to Westeros. But being Lord of Bear Island would take him far to the North. Away from her. She didn't want that. But it had been his desire so long ago; he'd gone so far as to betray her for it.

She smiled weakly and trailed her fingers along his jaw. Daenerys figured it would be best to figure out just what he wanted when they returned to Westeros. Would he want his title back if it meant being away from her, even though he'd only just expressed his desire to be close? "My knight...I wish to restore the honor you lost. If it is your desire, I would grant you a royal pardon and make you Lord of Bear Island once more. But if it would please you more to be in the Queensguard, I would be more than overjoyed to grant that title to you as well."

Even if it meant he could not wed - not even the Queen. And she would not be the laughingstock of Westeros like Cersei Lannister, taking her brother, a member of the Kingsguard, to her bed. It would please her more to have him named the Hand of the Queen. There would be less scandal in that, but scandal all the same.

But damn the scandals! She was the Queen, was she not? So long as she managed the country properly, far better than her father, did it truly matter who she took to her bed?

Jorah smiled and brushed his thumb over her jaw gently. "I thank you for the offer, but my younger sister has ruled bear island well and I am so fond of my little sister that it would be remiss of me to be named the lord of bear island and take away what is hers." He said.

He could see the struggle in her eyes and he held hope that perhaps there was a possibility for him to remain close to her. "What would please me most would be to walk by your side, to be the shoulder you cry on should you need one, to be the one to hold you close at night, and the one who keeps you safe from dangers without and within." He said. He would not outright ask, he did not feel he had earned enough honor for that privilege. He would be willing to support her, but not rule. He had seen her grow as a woman and a leader and he would love nothing better than to see her shine as Queen and rule the seven Kingdoms with justice and peace.

Daenerys smiled as she looked upon him. "I sent you away once, I do not wish to be without you again."

She considered long and hard what she might do. "But I do not like the role of Queensguard for you - would it please you, Ser Jorah, to be named Hand of the Queen?" Daenerys bit her lower lip, hoping he would accept.

Making him Hand would give him the chance to earn his honor back in the eyes of the people, not just Daenerys. He could be the lord he was once again without taking the lordship of Bear Island from his sister.

Jorah was surprised at the offer she made and found himself a bit overwhelmed at the offer. "I am humbled by the offer your grace. If you feel that I am worthy of such a responsibility then I would be honored to be your Hand." He said.

As he thought of it, it would be a way for him to be closer to her than a Queensguard. It would also give him a slim opportunity to possibly earn her hand without her loosing face as the Queen.

Daenerys smiled, taking his hand and lacing their fingers. Overjoyed that he had accepted her offer. Daenerys gave one last loving look to Drogon and rubbed her free hand over his snout. The dragon gave a short sniff before curling up on the raft to rest. Daenerys started to tug Jorah from the railing and towards the cabin.

"Shall we celebrate your new rank, Lord Hand?" she smirked teasingly.

Jorah smiled when he saw how happy she was that he had accepted. At first he was a bit puzzled as to what she was planning, but that smirk told him everything he needed to know. He reached out with his free hand to slide along her side slowly. "Indeed, as your hands it is my duty to always serve at your pleasure." He said with a little smirk of his own as he followed her willingly and eagerly towards the private cabin she had on the main ship.

Daenerys rolled her eyes but smiled at the pun. She led him back to the cabin, paying no mind to the looks from the servants aboard the ship as they disappeared behind the door together. Instantly her arms wrapped around him and she leaned up to kiss him hard. He had brought back her son, given her the stability her kingdom required. She owed him everything.
