[For Jorah
bearinshiningarmor] The Trust of a Khaleesi
Jorah had left her chambers early in the morning to avoid being seen by the servants. Daenerys had given him one last kiss goodbye, still reluctant to let him go. But she knew it had to be done. She knew that she had to remain strong and that he would have to publicly earn her trust again. If he wanted to be in her circle again, he would have to win the right.
Ser Barristan and Daario would not permit Jorah withing three feet of their Khaleesi without some proof that he could be trusted.
Thus, after she dozed off for a little while longer, Daenerys rose from bed and had the servants dress her for the day in a gown of blue and white fabric. She then made her way to the throne room and settled into her seat to receive complaints and concerns from her subjects. This was the open forum during which they could bring issues to her attention without fear.
Barristan and Daario were already there, the latter gave the Khaleesi a little wink, now that he had returned from his brief mission. Daenerys gave a weak smile, and blushed as images of Jorah flashed through her mind from the night before.

But the feeling of his hand over her belly had the strange effect of calming her right down. She was soothed, happy and content to dwell in the moment. "Our child..." she whispered, bringing her hand to rest atop his.

It did not take long for them to become organized and re-claim the south. With the remnants of the Lannister army spread out in the North and only the Tyrell's against the hordes Daenerys had brought across the ocean matched with all of Dorne and her three dragons, the battle for King's landing was very short.
All nobles of smaller houses who fought against her were stripped of their titles and lands to be re-distributed to more loyal lords. The smaller lords were given a choice to a fair trial without the option of trial by combat or to take the black.
For the remaining Tyrell's, Daenerys gave the father the option of a trial or to take the black. The daughter would be kept at King's Landing as a hostage and the son would inherit Highgarden, but some of the lands would be forfeit to the crown.
Jamie Lannister had a bounty on his head and a reward would be given for his capture alive to meet with the Queens justice. Tyrion would have a choice between a trial or to take the black. Cersi's trial had concluded that she was a traitor and she was scheduled to be executed. Tommen chose to take the Black and was sent on his way with 100 other lords who had also made the same choice.
Jorah was certain that any of the gold cloaks who were loyal to the Lannisters were tried to determine if they were worthy of the opportunity to take the black or if they should be executed.
In a matter of three months, Daenerys once again controlled the south. She had placed loyal southron lords over important keeps. She had named the Prince of Dorne the Warden of the south and had invited the oldest of the Sand Snakes to the capitol to be a member of her small council.
Jorah was on his way to speak with Daenerys, there were still a few members of the former small council he would rather her replace. He also had word from the North, from his sister. She had an idea where Sansa Stark might be and the only armies she would have to defeat would be the remnants of the Lannister army, the Bolton forces, and what remained of Stannis Baratheon's forces. He intended to suggest that wiping out the Frey's and putting a new, more loyal lord, at the Twins would be a wise move to uniting the North to her cause. He also wanted to suggest the idea of her saving Sansa and re-instating her as Wardeness of the North. He was a northern man himself, the North remembers and are fiercely loyal to the Starks. It would be far easier for Daenerys to have peace in her entire Kingdom if she could forgive the girl of the sins of her father.
He bowed before her. "Your grace."

The South was hers, but there was still the North to reclaim under the Targaryen banner. She knew the North would always be loyal to the Starks, and that the bad blood that boiled between Dire Wolf and Dragon was thick and acrid. It would require a great deal of work and convincing to win the North. But she thanked the Old Gods and New that her man, her Hand, Ser Jorah, was born of the North. He knew it far better than she, and she hoped he would be the sort of key to the North.
Baratheon had issued him a pardon, perhaps that would mean something to the Men of the North to amend his sins thought so grievous by Ned Stark.
Daenerys was in her chambers when Jorah came to her. The maids were braiding her hair, playing really with the new jewels she'd been given as gifts from lords looking for her favor. She smiled when he entered, her fingers over her rounded belly.
"Rise, Ser Jorah," she kept her tone level in front of her maids. "Have you some manner of news for me?"

He knew her maids were aware of her condition and also that she trusted them to hear his council. When given permission, he stood. "Your grace, I have discovered some terrible truths about things that have occurred in the North. Many of these events are so despicable that those who are guilty should be dealt with severely. I believe that dealing justice to those who deserve it will gain you favor amongst the remaining lords in the north."
He shifted on his feet a bit before telling her of the terrible tragedies that had befallen the former great house of Stark and how treacherous the Frey and Bolton families had become. "I believe the eldest Stark girl is likely alive if she is with Lord Littlefinger. Stark was a friend to the usurper and paid the price of disloyalty to your family. However, considering what has happened to the poor girl I do believe that she should not be condemned for the actions of her father. Perhaps...once she is found your Grace would consider naming her Wardeness of the North and assisting her to re-establish her home in Winterfell. I also suggest that the cowards Frey be dealt with severely and perhaps a more loyal Lord replace the senior Frey at the Twins. The Bolton's are cold and cruel and many Northern lords would not miss them should they also be punished for their crimes. I believe that if you agree to my suggestions you will have peace and loyalty in the north more quickly than open war."

Daenerys had no intention of punishing Sansa for what Ned Stark had done.
She stood up slowly, waving off the maids who stepped back. Silently she considered his suggestions. "Truth be told, I know the Starks are the key to the North. 'A Stark must always be in Winterfell' and all that..." she had heard that line dozens of times in her youth. "The Freys will indeed be dispatched and dealt with. They are to face the Queen's Justice for what they've done and how they've inhibited the struggle against the Lannisters."
They could not be trusted, clearly. Who knows? Perhaps Jaime Lannister was in hiding at the Twins, protected by the Freys.
"Your council is wise, Ser Jorah, and I thank you," Daenerys admitted with a nod of her head. "I shall consider it carefully."

Daenerys considered his words, her teeth pinching the inside of her cheek as she thought for a long moment. "If I eliminate all the old members of the small council, there are those who will think me tyrannical for it. They will see my removal of old members as my way of throwing away any opposition and only surrounding myself with my supporters - not supporters of the people."
But she agreed with his concern for Sansa. Daenerys gave a little wave of her fingers. "Send your men to seek out the Lady Sansa and bring her to me. But be sure to instruct them that they are not to harm her, lest they face the wrath of the Mother of Dragons."

Her words about the small council were met with a nod and a slight smile on his face of pride. "You speak with great wisdom your Grace." He said as he took a few steps closer to her.
The dismissive wave of her hand was met with with a nod. He already had a few men picked for that assignment and he would send them right after the execution.

Her eyes glanced to him when he stepped closer to her. She let her eyes flicker down and up again, taking in his form. Daenerys let her fingers reach out to brush over his. The smile on her face was unmistakable. She could deal with any opposition or trial so long as he was there by her side.
Daenerys gasped suddenly as she felt a strange sensation in her belly. But she wasn't alarmed, she'd felt it before...
"The baby's kicking," she whispered, taking his hand more fully as she grinned up at him, tears nearly in her eyes.

Jorah stood next to Daenerys as Cersi Lannister was led out in torn and frayed rags. She had appointed Daario as her Justice to carry out the executions. Jorah was watching the crowd, there was not much love for the Lannisters here, but he was still wary of any that might try to kill the new Queen.
The execution itself was very brief, he heard cheers when the lioness was killed. Her head was going to be next to an empty spike on the castle that was reserved for her brother and lover Jamie once he was found.
Jorah stayed with Daenerys and escorted her back to her chambers after the execution. "I think many in the city love you even more now that you have rid them of those flea ridden lions."

She walked back to her chambers slowly, with all the regality of a queen with Jorah beside her. Though once she reached her chambers she felt lightheaded and needed to sit down. She sat down in a fine chair and caught her breath a moment.
"Let us hope you're right, for surely there are still those who stood to gain from a lion's rule than a dragon's," she winced a little as her hand rubbed over the swell of her belly once again.
No, something wasn't right.

Daenerys reached beneath her crimson gown, investigating. When she pulled her hand out again she almost fainted. Blood covered her hand.
"No..." there was pure sorrow in her tone as she looked upon her blood-soaked fingers.

Jorah had heard this cry before from Daenerys and his heart felt as if it would stop and a rock was deep in his stomach. His eyes were filled with worry that was matched on his face. When she reached beneath her gown and her hand came back bloody it became obvious what had happened. The maids were quick to move, getting water and fresh clothes. One of her Dothraki hand maids looked over the cups she had used earlier that day and was inspecting the food, none of them were screaming or crying out in fear. They all knew what their duties were right now.
Jorah moved in close to Daenerys and pulled her as close as he could. He was not worried about blood getting on him. His hands sought hers to give her support. He rested his forehead against hers. He knew that the blood was just the beginning. There would be more pain and he was not going to leave her side for any reason. He was not certain if the Maester could still save the child or if it was already too late, but he did hope Missandi returned swiftly.

Missandei returned with the Maester right behind her. But when she saw the blood spilling from the Queen, she gasped and fell back a bit. Missandei was not Dothraki and therefore did not enjoy nor was she used to the sight of so much blood in such a setting. Daenerys' Dothraki maids diligently kept about their work inspecting her food and cups. One dipped a finger in what little was left of her Khaleesi's tea from earlier that morning and tasted the fluid. She called out in Dothraki, which obviously the Maester would not understand, but the message would be clear enough to Daenerys and Jorah.
Moon tea.
Daenerys' sobs ceased right then as she absorbed that information. She pushed back a bit and looked up at Jorah. "...What."
