Jorah had left her chambers early in the morning to avoid being seen by the servants. Daenerys had given him one last kiss goodbye, still reluctant to let him go. But she knew it had to be done. She knew that she had to remain strong and that he would have to publicly earn her trust again. If he wanted to be in her circle again, he would have to win the right.

Ser Barristan and Daario would not permit Jorah withing three feet of their Khaleesi without some proof that he could be trusted.

Thus, after she dozed off for a little while longer, Daenerys rose from bed and had the servants dress her for the day in a gown of blue and white fabric. She then made her way to the throne room and settled into her seat to receive complaints and concerns from her subjects. This was the open forum during which they could bring issues to her attention without fear.

Barristan and Daario were already there, the latter gave the Khaleesi a little wink, now that he had returned from his brief mission. Daenerys gave a weak smile, and blushed as images of Jorah flashed through her mind from the night before.

The journey to Dorne had not been in vain. Daenerys struck an alliance with the royal family and plotted to bring down the Lannister usurpers. She found the climate of Dorne very much to her liking. Warm during the day yet the sea made the nights cool on bare skin. In the night she relied on her bear to keep her warm. Daenerys called on Jorah each night to her bed. So wrapped up was she in her plans for conquering Westeros that Daenerys paid no attention to her monthly bleeding. As it happened, she was late. She had not bled in at least two months.

But that was not what first alerted her that something was wrong.

Daenerys had arisen that morning, oddly enough the night before she had not sent for Jorah, she had been too tired, and promptly threw up into her chamber pot. Thinking herself under the weather, Daenerys had shrugged it off once it had passed and set about cleaning up promptly. But it was when her maids began dressing her that, as with before, they called attention to it.

Most of the men trusted the word of her older hand than Daenerys herself. Something she would adress when the time was right; however, these side meetings made her allies happier and Jorah was swift to report to her all details no matter how trivial to her.

Daenerys, no matter how worried she was, couldn't resist smiling when she saw him. She stood up and brushed her hand over his arm as she kept smiling to him.

"Would you take a walk with me, Lord Hand? It's such a lovely day," she glanced over her shoulder to her servants and gave a brief dismissive wave. "Leave us."

She waited for them to leave before snaking her arm around his and walking through the water gardens. Here she kept her voice hushed as they walked, fearing someone might be listening.

"I've news, Ser Jorah..." she sighed, not seeing how she could put off telling him, or sugarcoat it. "I am...with child."

Jorah gave her a smile in return. The brightness of her smile seemed infectious. He nodded as he walked with her. When she dismissed her servants he found that curious. He walked with her and smiled when she put her arm around him.

Her words were unexpected. In fact they stunned him into silence and he stopped walking as he processed that. "You...you are certain?" His voice dropped low to be sure no one heard. "Are you pleased at this information?" He asked. He personally would be completely overjoyed to share a child with her, but he would show restraint with his emotions until he discovered how she truly felt about being with child in the midst of a war. No matter how he controlled his face, his eyes were bright with joy and love for her at her news.

Daenerys nodded slowly and glanced up to him. "I am certain," she affirmed. At first she bit her lower lip at his second question, considering all the possibilities and details, recalling what had happened the last time she had expected a child. "I am happy, yes." She finally realized.

She smiled up at him and gave his arm a little squeeze. "I am happy, but I am also worried, for obvious reasons." They were about to embark on a war to reclaim her throne. "I only want want to make absolutely certain that this child is kept safe and healthy."

Jorah smiled as he continued their walk. He was overjoyed to see her so happy, but he could not show that kind of elation out here. Someone would figure it out. "As you should worry. I agree that this should be kept secret. Perhaps have your maids assist you with keeping this a secret?" He said assuming the maids would discover the truth sooner or later. "When the battles begin, if you start to feel overwhealmed promise me you will go and rest with your maids at your side and trust me to follow your plan." He asked her.

Daenerys glanced down to her belly, knowing it to be slightly swollen beneath the loose fabric of her gown. She wanted to protect this child far better than she had protected the last. The Gods had seen fit to bless her with a child even after the tragedy that had occurred before. She would not see that gift wasted.

"A secret, yes," she agreed, nodding her head. She glanced her violet eyes up to him and smiled a little. "I do trust you, love. But that is beside the point. Even if I am overwhelmed, no one must see me so. I cannot afford to display weakness."

Meaning she'd have to be there regardless of how she felt.

Jorah knew that she would be protective and careful. He looked forward to seeing her tonight to show her the true joy he felt at this news.

He nodded as he continued to walk with her around the water gardens. He was not surprised at her answer. There was a smile of pride on his face and he chuckled at that. "I had a feeling you would insist upon that your Grace. You are a strong leader and I would not have expected a different answer." He said before adding. "Although, I had hoped you might have considered it." He said.

Daenerys smiled, giving his arm another squeeze as they continued walking. "For your sake, and for the sake of our child, I will consider it."

Perhaps there was a way to leave the battlefield without being seen as weak. She would need to hide her condition somehow when her delivery date drew near.

"Come to me tonight?" She glanced up to him. "Already my belly is beginning to swell, if you'd like to see." Daenerys couldn't help grinning, wanting to see her belly grow as their child did.

Jorah nodded and his heart swelled at those words. "I am grateful that you value my recommendations." He said as he spotted a servant.

That night Jorah arrived in her chambers. Once they were alone, he spun her around in a circle before kissing her deeply with love and joy. "I am overjoyed my heart, and I am glad to see you so happy."

It was an agonizing day, waiting for the evening when she could revel in her condition with Jorah. That they could properly celebrate conceiving their child. She laughed when he appeared and spun her around. When she came about again, she wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled broadly up at him. "As am I, my love! I am indeed so very happy," she glanced down, her fingers running over her gown that covered her belly. "I never thought I'd be able to conceive again..."

Jorah smiled as his hand moved to follow hers over her growing belly. He kissed her forehead lovingly before speaking. "That's because you are home again. You are a Queen and Queens must have children to continue the line. Now that you are home you can have children once again." He said softly.

"You really think so?" She smiled as she looked down to her belly. Then she would thank whatever Gods watched over her in the sky. Daenerys wrapped her hand around his and led Jorah back to the bed. "You can see the swelling better without this gown on, you know."

Jorah smiled as he nodded. "I truly do." He said before following her towards her bed. Once there he slowly lifted her thin shift off of her and his eyes were filled with even more love and devotion when he saw the swell of her belly. He slowly fell to his knees as he placed both hands on her stomach gently. He leaned in to softly kiss her stomach. "Grow strong my little one." He said softly against her stomach.

Jorah turned his eyes up as his hands moved to guide Daenerys to sit down. He wanted to celebrate this moment further and he silently requested it by slowly beginning to kiss his way down her slightly swollen belly and towards that sweet junction between her legs.

She was so happy to be carrying his child. When his lips brushed over her belly Daenerys giggled, wondering if the baby could feel it - though she was sure the baby likely was too small to hear or feel much just yet.

Jorah saw how happy she was and his hope that perhaps he might earn the right for her hand once he was fully re-instated was growing bigger with every day and now to see how happy she was to be carrying his child delighted him immeasurably.
