[For Jorah] A True Mother
Peace in the Seven Kingdoms.
It had been hard-won, but things were finally settling down. Daenerys had crushed the Lannister resistance and all its supporters with minimal casualties. Most of the Westerosi people were too happy to see the lions stripped of their power. Some were still wary of having a dragon on the throne again, but Daenerys had proven that she was not her father. Far from it, she was kind and forgiving - though not weak by any stretch of the imagination.
And she could not have been happier with Jorah by her side.
Nights in the Red Keep were hot enough, and every night he worked her into such a frenzy of lust that the scent of their bedroom seemed to smell perpetually of sweat and sex and love. Thus it came as no surprise to her maids when Daenerys once again began missing her bleeding, and as her breasts became fuller. Daenerys had not been certain that she could believe that, once again, she was pregnant. To be sure, without telling Jorah, she went to the Maester and had him test her to be certain.
It was true: Daenerys was pregnant.
Overjoyed, Daenerys instructed the servants that she would take dinner in her bedroom and to send the king consort to her when it was time for dinner. She waited patiently in their bedroom, in the balcony overlooking the city. The servants brought dinner and set it up on the table for them before leaving Daenerys alone to wait for Jorah. The wine had gone unpoured at her instructions, and the jug was on Jorah's side of the table. Daenerys could hardly contain her excitement.

She smiled and looked up to Jorah. "First things first though, love: Wouldn't you like to hold your own son?"

She listened even as she rested against the pillows, exhausted and weary. Though when Jorah mentioned young boys competing for the opportunity to be her child's guard, Daenerys frowned. "Is that wise, love?" She asked, sternly. "Should we not choose for ourselves who shall serve so close to our son? Or rather, should he not adopt the Dothraki way and choose his own Bloodriders?"
Daenerys didn't like the idea of chance and fate deciding the safety of her son. She wanted more control, she wanted to be sure that her child was safe.

He felt it was important to allow commoners and nobles to enter their sons into this competition. From many reports he had heard the people loved her greatly from her institution of allowing the commoners to vote for representatives that were allowed into the small council meetings. Giving them this opportunity would improve this even more. He wanted his son to be loved by the commoners as much as his mother was.

She gave Jorah a slightly skeptical look. "Cunning and strong are not always synonymous with loyal. I just want my son to be safe, Jorah."
Though she was comforted by the thought that one of her dragon sons would be drawn to her baby and would protect him as though he really was their brother.

He looked down at his son. "He will be safe once he meets his big brothers. They will love and protect him as much as their mother." He said.

"You are already loved, my little darling," she smiled. "By more than just your mother and father - for we do love you more than anything."
Then she looked up to Jorah, unable to stop herself from leaning up and kissing him. "I can hardly believe it...their devotion is beyond compare, I am lucky indeed. We are lucky, indeed."

He was speaking very well for such a young boy. He was being taught Valerian and the common tongue for now. Although, Jorah heard him practicing Dothraki with some of his personal guard from Daenerys' bloodriders.
He was making the final preparations for their journey to the North. They would tour all of the great houses and even visit Castle Black to speak to the Lord Commander. There had been disturbing reports of white walkers and a visit seemed necessary. The dragons would be joining them for this journey and preparations had to be made to accommodate them at the various houses. First they would stop at the Erie, followed by the Twins, followed by Castle Black, followed by Winterfell, and finally a visit to Bear Island.
Jorah smiled as he went to his shared chambers to collect his wife and son to begin their journey. "Everything has been prepared. The caravan should be arriving at the Erie now. We have a small escort saddled and ready to take us to your children to take us to the Erie." He said with pride. He looked at Jorys, "Have you decided who you want to ride with son?" It seemed improper for the Mother of Dragons and Queen of the seven Kingdoms to visit the northern reaches of her realm in a carriage or even on horseback.

She had thought it important for Jorys to see where his father had grown up, and the other kingdoms in the North. So Jorah was making preparations for their journey, and Jorys was playing on their bed in their private chamber. Daenerys sat on the bed and held her arms open for Jorys, who toddled along the bed and fell into her embrace. When Jorah appeared the boy grinned, but then looked puzzled when he was asked the question. Jorys looked up between his parents, then focused on Jorah with a grin.
"Papa! Wanna' ride with you!" he called out. Daenerys smiled and leaned in to kiss his forehead.
"Then so be it, my little love," Daenerys smiled.

He smiled upon seeing his wife and son so happy. He was relieved that Jorys bonded with his dragon brothers so easily. There had been many on the small council who were very uncomfortable with the entire idea. Fortunately, it had all ended for the better than what was feared would occur.
Jorah smiled as he picked his growing son up to spin him in a circle with a proud smile on his face. After setting him down, Jorah put his hand on top of the boys head to measure his height. "Have you gotten taller? I don't think you were this tall when I left this morning for my meetings." He teased as he smiled at his wife and Queen. He could see how Jorys was built like himself and knew that he would be strong and a powerful warrior.
Once the decision was made he looked to Daenerys and gave a slight bow. "If you are both prepared, may I escort you to the horses?" He said with a smile. He offered his hand for Daenerys and would kiss her gently once she was close enough. He led them both out to the waiting horses which took them to the three dragons. Jorah climbed upon the back of his dragon first before reaching down to pick up his son from the Unsullied who had picked him up. Jorah made sure his son was secure and looked to his wife. "After you my Queen." He said with a bow of his head.

"No, Papa! You're silly!" Jorys grinned at the suggestion that he was taller.
Daenerys smiled back at Jorah and took his offered hand. Her lips parted to deepen the kiss. "I'm ready my love, and anxious to begin our journey."
She followed him to the horses and rode skillfully with Jorys in the saddle with her. When they got to the dragons Daenerys stroked over Drogon's snout and climbed up onto his back. She watched carefully as Jorys was set up with his father. It was only when she was sure he was safe that she gave a playful little wave to Jorys.
"Follow Mama, Jorys - hold tight to Papa!" with that, Drogon lifted into the air.

The flight was smooth and neither he nor Jorys were in danger during the flight. The dragons were good about flying level to keep a rider firmly on their back. They landed on a recently built flat area near the top of the castle on the mountain peak. Their trusted bodyguards were there to greet them upon landing and to assist them to dismount the tall dragons.

When they landed Daenerys slipped off Drogon's back with the help of her bodyguard. Then she stepped over to reach up for Jorys, who laughed and cried out in absolute delight, only too eager to return to his mother's arms.
"We flew, Mama!" he proclaimed.
"We did! You did so well, my darling," she praised him with a kiss on the forehead and glanced up to smile at Jorah, happy that he had kept their son so safe.

She couldn't continue the conversation much longer as Jorys was rushing up to the both of them. He rushed up to Jorah and held his arms up, wanting to be held. "Up, Papa! Pleeease?"

"You're almost as high as Drogon flies, little love," Daenerys smiled. "Jorah, be careful with my son, don't drop him."
"Papa won't drop me! Silly Mama!" Jorys grinned.

He hoped his son would cheer him on to give him an opportunity to tease his wife a little.

"Up Mama!! Up Mama!!" Jorys exclaimed.
Daenerys smiled but looked at Jorah - she knew he would indulge their child's request. She gave a tilt of her brow and stepped back from him. "Don't you dare."
