[For Eric] Mission Objective: Rescue the Damsel
A descendant of the fabled witch, Morgan Le Fae. Anne could hardly believe such a thing was even possible. Still, since her brief encounter with the sorceress in a dream, her talent for magic had been unlocked and she'd been able to conjure spells. It seemed to make sense anyway, considering that many in her time had called her a witch. Might as well enjoy the perks of it, right?
Anne had been practicing in Eric's apartment day after day, using her magic to light candles, and conjure minor spirits to talk to when Eric was gone on a mission. But she was getting bored. She wanted to go out and use her magic to help him with these missions of his! But she wasn't sure how he'd react to such a desire. She hadn't ran the idea by him just yet.

Of course Eric wasn't presently aware that Anne had discovered super powers of her own, unlocked from the magic of her ancestor, but it was possible with the right suggestions he'd happily have her tag along if she was certain she could protect herself, though they'd likely be best just working together until Eric might convince the Secret Avengers that she'd be useful. It had been hard enough het being able to stay at all, but Reed Richards and Hank Pym had done science stuff and apparently it seemed like the timelines were fine. So Anne was ok to stay. Maybe the version of her had branched out from another. Temporal mumbo jumbo, anyway.
He finally got to the window of her apartment and glanced inside to see where Anne might be before using the small space under the pane to get inside, housed at presently a quarter of an inch tall. He felt embarrassed to always admit to Anne but she did make a stunning giant lady in his opinion, so seeing here when he was shrunk was nice.

When she focused hard enough, the candle lit.
Anne clapped and gave a little sound of delight, having accomplished her task. But then she focused again, bringing a hand out, squeezing a fist, and the candle snuffed itself out. Anne couldn't have been more pleased with herself.

He'd become knowledgeable enough with how Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange acted to know what magic was when he saw it, and this certainly was it. Slowly a smile appeared on his features under the helmet. Having a girlfriend with magical powers was certainly the latest cool addition to being a size changing tech hero and always having a girlfriend from the past.
He carefully hovered up and closer to her until he should be in her line of sight, coughing politely once the coms were activated, not wanting to startle her and run the risk of her instinctively trying to swat him. "Anne? That was... amazing! You can do magic?"
no subject
"Oh, I was hoping to surprise you myself! I only recently discovered my talent for it," she smiled to him. "As it happens, I discovered that the sorceress Morgan le Fay was an ancestor of mine. Her magic lay dormant in my blood until I unlocked it the other day."
And already she was close to mastering it. "I hope you're not upset that I didn't tell you right away? I was hoping to find another way to surprise you..."
no subject
"Sorry I spoiled your surprise, I got back early and wanted to bring the suit with me so I couldn't really use the front door... but that's awesome! My girlfriend knows magic! So of course I'm not mad, I'm actually pretty happy for you, though it must have taken some effort to learn." Inwardly he recalled that the Avengers and Morgan Le Fay had clashed on a few occasions - time travel and all - but he was certain that Anne would be a good magic user.
"Oh? What sort of surprise might you be thinking of, beautiful?" He said in a slightly flirting tone.
no subject
"My ancestor taught me, and I've been practicing on my own after she gave instructions," she leaned in a bit and her eyes flashed playfully when he asked about the surprise. "Come back to size, lover. Let me show you what I've learned."
no subject
"When you put it like that, I'm definitely tempted to see what you've learnt. Hang on a second..." Hopping off her palm and on the carpet beside her he activated the suit's Pym Particles and reverted to his full size before taking off his helmet and wrapping his arms around her waist. "There, now if nothing else we're good for kissing, sexy."

no subject
"Hmmmmmm, I don't know what spell that is but it feels wonderful. We are definitely going to put these new skills of yours to good use, Anne." And of course the idea of her joining him in his missions was a pleasing one. Outside being in her company if she was becoming accomplished at magic it would make for ideal skills against enemies.

"I'm glad you approve," she purred softly as she stepped back away from him and towards the bedroom. "There's more."
no subject
The smile on his face broadened as she headed for the bedroom, eyes on her as he started to remove the rest of his armour. "You're darn right I approve. And I think we'll be able to use these skills of yours for more than just in bed too. With some training and the right kind of costume you could be a great super heroine."
no subject
"Really? Do you truly think I could?" Or was he teasing her, using that playful, witty banter of his to rile her further? She wanted to be sure.
no subject
"If you're certain that you've mastered your powers so you're not likely to hurt the good guys, then sure. Probably a good idea if you get some training in from the other if you join any wider team though, but I'm happy to have you work with me when it's ok to. Having a magic user to watch over me would be nice."

Eric had expected that as often was the case he'd be awoken by Anne's kisses from her tempting lips, or else he awaken first and do the same for her before the day started proper. But he hadn't expected a sudden burst of light from a strange ball of energy to awaken him at the end of the bedroom. Before he could respond properly in his half asleep state an armoured gloved hand had emerged from the light and sent him hurtling across the room.
"Ms Boleyn, I would have words with you." The imposing voice with a hard to place but slight Eastern European accent under a metal mask immediately sent a horrified chill down O'Grady's spine as he realised he knew that voice all too well. Doctor Doom was in his freaking apartment!
no subject
When the voice echoed through their bedroom, Anne felt her blood run cold. She'd watched enough of the news, worried for Eric when he went out on a mission, hoping she'd catch some glimpse of footage to prove that he was safe - she knew who Doctor Doom was. She knew he was an enemy.
"I've no words for the likes of you - bursting into a couple's home unannounced, how rude," Anne gave her own sweeping gesture, using her magic to try and send Doom across the room as he had done to Eric. But with her only limited mastery of magic, it would likely not be too much trouble for Doom to evade her attack and seize her.

The despot simply raised a gloved hand at her attack and appeared to absorb the magical power, sending it crackling in various directions as Eric quickly ducked from a bolt of powerful magic. "Stay the hell away from my girlfriend, you ass hole." Eric wished he sounded braver at saying that than it came out, but it did make Doom turn towards him and... ah. A more scientific bolt of energy hit Eric in the chest and sent him sprawling to the ground out cold.
"Your mastery of magic is promising, Ms Boleyn, but ill suited to handling the true sorcerer supreme, and lacking the finesse of your esteemed ancestor. Observe." The Latverian used another sect of magic which instead drew her into his grip as Eric attempted to right himself painfully.
no subject
"Get your hands off me!!" She screamed. "What've you done to him? I swear I'll-!" She didn't know how to finish that sentence. What could she do, really? He'd just rendered her magic all but useless. And she obviously lacked the physical strength it would take to push him off.
She should have pushed herself more. Her practice rituals should have been more than just lighting candles and making her clothes disappear. She was still just a damsel in distress yet again. Dammit all!
"What do you want?"
no subject
"Your partner is alive, Ms Anne, because to kill him would not suit my purposes. As for yourself, I detected your gathering magicks like a beacon. You have mastered certain practices quickly, so it is your promise I seek to investigate. You will be accompanying me to my laboratories." With one arm still around her Eric watched in groggy alarm as the other activated a spell, enveloping them in the same energy as they vanished from sight. Victor and Anne instantly remerged in the darkened hallway of his castle in Latveria as torches flickered menacingly.
no subject
"How dare you? Who the hell do you think you are seizing me in such a manner? I've no interest in using my magic for you, and there's no way you can make me!" Anne snapped, her eyes flashed in anger as she glared up at him.
no subject
Meanwhile Eric had recovered from the blow and was angrily seeking his Ant Man armour from his wardrobe. He hadn't a strategy in mind yet for dealing with or even reaching Doom, but he'd do his best to save Anne. If he could somehow get in touch with her and see how she was, that would help, but there was no telling what Doom might have done to her. The Avengers were an option of course, but likely to result in some major damage and causalities, including for his love, so Eric was figuring a solo attack might work better.
no subject
"You'd risk exposing yourself and incurring the anger of an Avenger just to kill me for being petulant? I think not," she snapped. But all the same she did glance to the wooden door frame and start towards it. "So what do you want from me?" She demanded, trying to maintain a haughty exterior even if on the inside she was terrified and praying that Eric would find her and save her.
no subject
"If you believe your Eric O'Grady concerns me more than the majority of the Avengers, you are mistaken. But I can preform worse fates than death if you test me, Ms Boleyn. What Doom dictates, Doom accomplishes." He followed her at a comfortable distance as she spoke. "Your magic comes from untapped sources, willed to you via the memory and genetic code of your ancestor, Morgan Le Fay. She and I have been... close, in the past. Regardless, that level of magic control at such an early stage requires investigation. In the meantime until I am ready for you, you shall remain Doom's... guest."
no subject
She had thought time travel was not something most people could manage.
"You knew my ancestor?" She tilted a brow. "How?"
Anne was no fool, she picked up on his hesitation when he mentioned the nature of his knowledge of Morgan Le Fay. She turned to face him more completely, wanting an answer, curious to know more.
no subject
Unlocking the doorway he revealed a large chamber with a bed and table with some reading material, and even a plate of food to hand. The word Anne might result in was 'esteemed prisoner' - Doom wanted her to be kept well but reminded she could not escape.
Eric was dressed in his Ant Man suit back at base, holding his head and wishing he could think of some easy plan to cross the thousand of miles between him and Anne and rescue her. Perhaps if Reed Richards had a teleporter to Latveria...
no subject
"So you're obviously after my power for something - if you're so close with my ancestor why not ask her to help you?" she glared over her shoulder to him. "Surely you've realized that he'll come for me? He'll save me and you'll regret ever thinking of this foul scheme."
