[For Jorah/Hannibal] Homecoming

In Essos, Daenerys had given birth to a healthy and lively baby girl. She had her father's dark eyes but the light hair and full face of her mother. It was shortly after her birth that a letter arrived from across the Shivering Sea - too far for a raven to fly. It came from King's Landing and bared the Bolton seal. The letter invited Daenerys back to Westeros, but not to reclaim the Iron Throne. Apparently, Hannibal Bolton had taken control of King'sLanding, and the Starks had all but been demolished. The Lannisters, in turn, had also been eradicated.

Daenerys was shocked. But more than that, she suspected treason. As did Tyrion Lannister. With her newborn daughter to her breast, Daenerys took council with Jorah, Grey Worm, Missandei and Tyrion.

"Who does this Bolton think he is?" She snapped. "Inviting me back without promising to relinquish the throne to me? It is mine by birthright, I will not allow some savage northman to take what is mine."

Lannister, Baratheon, Bolton - the name didn't matter. A thief was a thief.

"If he took King's Landing and defeated the Lannister army, my queen, then we can conclude that he indeed has a powerful army of his own," Tyrion pointed out.

A few weeks had gone by, and Margaery's belly had begun to swell only slightly with their fourth child. Of course Olenna could spot this a mile away and was already declaring name options. Aenar was with the pair of them while they took tea in the gardens overlooking the ocean. The boy was now sitting up on his own in his mother's lap, but still feed from her breast. The twins were studying with their tutors.

"So tell me child," Olenna sipped her tea. "What is your husband's intention by inviting the Targaryen girl back here?"

Aenar cooed when Roose came close and he patted his hands over the dragon's nose. Margaery glanced up to her grandmother, who added more to her question.

"Don't tell me he means to surrender his throne to her, now that they have a confirmed common lineage?" Olenna scoffed.

"Certainly not, grandmother," Margaery replied sharply. "Do you honestly think my husband is the type of man to relinquish power? No. But if you're so curious, all him yourself, he should be joining us shortly."

Margaery smiled and ran her hands over his shoulders. She chuckled at his words, then punched him hard several times in the arm and in his upper chest, avoiding his cut.

"You bastard!! I can't believe you went and did that to me! You nearly got yourself killed!! You almost left me a widow! Were you out of your mind!?" Margaery hit him a few more times before she stopped, tears were in her eyes.

"I can't believe you didn't let me help...I was worried sick, watching you up there," she whimpered.

Jorah felt as if a frozen blade had been thrust into his heart when he heard those words. "No, you had to face far harder trials to become the leader you are. I know it felt like a long journey, but to come here from King's Landing took half the time it did to cross the Dothraki sea. You have single handedly claimed control of all Dothraki clans. He would not have earned their respect and loyalty like you have. Your people live with freedom and know that you will keep them free and safe. His people live in fear of his wroth, they do not respect him." He said. He did not want his strong wife to be this defeated.

Hannibal had not expected her anger to turn on him so quick. The pinches were weak, but a few did irritate the freshly sealed cut. He was very glad that he had not yet taught her to properly punch yet. He stood and wrapped his arms around her to hold her close once those tears began to flow freely. He brushed a few off her cheek as he looked deep within her eyes. "If you had been at my side you would be dead. He used old magic to instantly freeze and turn my men. My lineage protected me from him." He said solemnly.

Daenerys leaned into him as tears welled in her eyes. "We don't have a choice, do we? We must return to Essos, if we want to stay alive and live happily with our daughter. That is our only choice, isn't it?"

She looked at Daella's innocent sleeping figure. "There's no hope for us here. His line is secured, in four children." She would not resort to the butchery that had destroyed almost the entire Stark clan.

Margaery had purposely held back on her punches. She didn't want to do more damage to him, or worse yet risk his death. Margaery buried her face into his neck as he held her.

"My Tyrell blood burns too hot," she looked up to him. "He could not have frozen me, there is yet magic over the Southern clans that the North knows not."

She brought her fingers up over his cheek and looked into his eyes. "Promise me you won't ever do that again. I can't handle watching that again."

Jorah held her tightly and kissed her forehead. He waited for a few moments to collect his thoughts on how best to proceed. "I have you and Daella still warm and breathing. I cannot express how thankful I am to the gods that I can say that right now." He said softly. He had been concerned of their chances early in the battle.

Hannibal listened and gave a hint of a smile. "Indeed there is magic in your blood. I look forward to seeing how it fully manifests itself." He said before looking deep within her eyes. "There will never be a need for such extremes as this battle. That I swear to you." He vowed.

Daenerys buried her face against his chest and sighed deeply. "She deserves better than Essos, she deserves the land of her ancestors."

Her eyes suddenly turned dark and angry. "And he claims ancestry in the Targaryen line. He dares to claim that he is blood of my blood."

How could she let that stand? How could she leave Westeros at the command of another usurper? Again she began to cry, burying her face into Jorah's chest. This had been planned so meticulously. They had tried so hard.

"We've failed..." she whined.

"Say the words," Margaery demanded. "Say you will never go into battle and leave me to watch ever again. Promise that you will keep me by your side no matter the threat."

Her dark eyes flashed as she looked to him. She would not take no for an answer. He was the king, yes, and she would yield to him in public. Here, she had authority; here she felt the freedom to speak her true mind and make demands of her husband.

"Promise me, Hannibal. Say it."

Jorah held her even closer. He kissed her temple tenderly. "We had poor timing." He answered her. Had they waited and come over upon their own ships whilst he and hianarmy were here, they could have easily taken King's Landing. Or at the very least had an opportunity to take it.

Hannibal listened and looked deep into those spirited, fiery eyes. "I swear that you shall be by my side should I ever go into battle again." He promised her. He genuinely meant that and knew she would accept it.

Daenerys shook her head and buried her face against his neck. Daella began to cry and whimper, hungry for her mother's milk. She stood slowly and approached the crib, lifting their daughter into her arms and kissed her head.

"I'm sorry, my love, I wanted to give you so much more, but I couldn't." She whispered.

Margaery was satisfied with that answer and kissed him deeply. "So then, what is our next step? Is the enemy vanquished? May we return to our children?"

Jorah held her tight and watched as she moved to gonfeed Daella. He listened and felt that stab in his heart growing stronger. He was feeling more and more like this was all his fault. He had been the one who had advised her to do these things that had ultimately lost them the iron throne.

Hannibal smiled as he pulled her tight into his body. He kissed her deeply before pulling back slowly to look deep within her eyes. "We will know by morning my love. I do believe our last enemy will tuck her tail and run back to Essos." He said with confidence.

Daenerys bared her breast and let Daella feed from her. For a few moments she was silent, but then she turned to Jorah with a sad, tearful smile on her lips.

"Shall we return to Essos then? Make a life for ourselves in Meereen and raise our daughter there?" The words she kept to herself were: Shall we abandon all hope of returning the Westeros? Shall we abandon everything we've worked so hard for up until now? Did they have a choice, when everything came down to it?

Margaery kissed him back, noting the slight chill of his lips, which she attributed to the intense cold so far north. Her eyes flashed when he mentioned Essos, of course referring to Daenerys. "Is it true?" She pressed into him closer. "She's running away?"

Jorah listened and his face showed the frustration at himself that he felt. He gave a solemn nod of his head. "We should give our daughter the best life we can manage. That is im Essos." He said in agreement.

Hannibal smiled to her as he brusjes his thumb over her cheek. "Both her and her husband know that Inwill follow through on my promise to slaughter them if they test me further. I think they will choose to live and watch her grow into a woman rather than leave her future to our hands." He said truthfully.

Why. Why did it have to be in Essos? That was not the land that her fathers had built. Her ancestors had fled from Essos, deeming it unworthy to lie beneath their feet. Daenerys was happy with the work she had done there, but it had all been to work towards this goal of re-taking Westeros.

But that dream was gone now.

Daenerys settled near Jorah and let their daughter feed. Then she pulled her back and burped her before letting her rest in her arms. "I suppose you are right," she admitted reluctantly.

Margaery smiled and kissed over is thumb and palm. "And our line is secure in our children, there is no fear that she will return to reclaim what her mother could not," Margaery smirked.

She kissed him hard and pressed her body into his. They'd won. He'd kept his promise. He'd made her a queen, and allowed her to keep that crown. Her fingers dragged carefully over that gash in his chest, knowing he would be forever marked by the encounter.

Jorah held them both close and kissed his wife's temple tenderly. He just held them so close as he quietly cursed himself for failing his family so terribly.

Hannibal smirked as his hands gave her ass a firm squeeze. "Not to mention anymore we might be blessed with once we have had a break from having children." He said as he held up the special elixir he had finally finished for her. "This has been tested in the whorehouses for months. The women do not even bleed, nor do they become pregnant." He said.

Morning came after a fitful night's sleep. Daenerys kept Daella close in their bed, but her own face remained buried into Jorah's chest. When she woke that next morning, Daenerys sighed and rose slowly. Daella remained asleep on the soft furs of the bed.

She pushed her fingers tenderly through Jorah's hair and sighed sadly. She didn't want to wake him. But then would need to go soon.

Margaery had taken the elixir and smirked playfully when her husband offered it. She was anxious to test it out, but thought better of taking him right then. He had just survived battle, and his wounds were still fresh.

Plus...there was a part of Margaery that wanted to make him hold out too. A sort of additional punishment for her fear and worry watching the battle.

In the morning, however, Margaery rolled over and trailed her fingers over his cut. It was healing nicely, but still needed help. Margaery straddled him while he slept and applied more ointment. And conveniently took the opportunity to rub her hips suggestively into his.
