[For Eric] A Step Through Time

After dinner in her time Anne had retired to her room, Eric still shrunk down and nestled between her breasts. She was so quick to rush to the window, no doubt momentarily adjusting to the blinds than any sort of drapes, that Eric was too surprised to stop her, not that he minded her doing so, and he smiled at her evident amazement, aware that despite her time frame Anne was more than capable of understanding futuristic concepts with the right amount of help and intel.

"Yeah, we've mastered building larger structures in the last few centuries, kind of have to since there's so many people now." He moved beside her to open the blinds wider so she could have a better look. "And those are cars. They're like machines we use to move about in. Horses and carriages are more of a novelty these days." The buzz of an aircraft above them made him look up. "Ah, and planes are another thing. This could take a while, so why don't we take it one step at a time, ok? I'm sure you'll master everything with time."

The blinds were indeed a marvel for her. Anne's eyes were wide as he adjusted them so she could get a better look. When he looked up she followed his gaze and stared wide-eyed at the plane.

"...Pl...ane..." she had never spoken the word before. Not as a vehicle. "How could you possibly call something that moves through the air 'plain'?" She wasn't trying to be funny, and of course she didn't know the difference in spelling meant they were two different words.

But of course, he knew best. So Anne stepped back a bit and smiled to him. "Yes, you're quite right. What should we start with first?"

Likely everything would be a marvel to her, even if much of it might be routed in things she would understand, but Eric was content to help teach her. He chuckled at her reaction to the plane.

"That's good, but that's what we call them, Planes, P-L-A-N-E-S. As for how they fly... well I'll try and introduce you to the mighty entity known as Google later. All things considered thought, you're doing good so far."

He considered for a moment before smiling. "Well first I'm going to get out of my armour and slip into something else. Perhaps since you let me share a bath I can introduce you to the shower?"

Anne's brow furrowed, curious at this 'Google' creature, but she didn't want to bombard Eric with questions. She nodded when he suggested the shower, curious about that too but assuming it was like a bath as he compared the bath they'd shared to a shower.

"Perhaps there is something more suitable for me to wear for this time? At least until we can go find clothes that suit me," she replied.

It was probably good she didn't, since Eric would likely not have a decent answer to half of them anyway. Sharing the shower with her would be pleasant enough anyway.

He considered her 16th century attire before speaking. "I don't really own any ladies clothing, but I guess there are some clothes of mine which would suit you. But as long as we're just together in the apartment you're ok to wear your clothes... or none at all." He added with a smirk.

"I figured you didn't, but I assume something of this time would be better than nothing at all until I can get my own wardrobe," and Anne did indeed have a taste for the finer things being a high-born lady.

But time enough for that later.

Anne caught that smirk and responded with one of her own. She reached up behind her and untied the laces of her gown, loosening it enough to push it from her shoulders and allow the fabric to pool at her feet. Leaving her bare before him.

Fortunately as an Avenger Eric did get access to a reasonably decent salary, so getting Anne some nice clothes would likely be possible. "There's probably some suitable clothes of mine you can have in the meantime until I can find some woman's clothing for you."

Anne followed behind him, curious. There had been talk of the King having an indoor system for his bath that did not require the servants to bring in buckets of water from outside. But a twenty-first century bathroom? Anne was not at all prepared; it was beyond anything she could have ever dreamed.

Eric was thankfully quick enough to catch her as she slipped slightly, knowing that the place must have seemed very strange to a woman of her time.

He pointed to the cubicle in the corner. "Over there. Water comes out of that spout over you and stays nice and warm, or whatever temperature you want it to be." Opening the glass door he switched it on, the water coming on after a moment.

Anne watched in wonder as the water turned on. Water, inside - with no need for servants. How convenient! Tentatively she reached her hand into the water stream. It was indeed warm to the touch, and she smiled broadly.
