Hannibal armed himself with his sword and short knife on his belt as he put on his riding gloves. He had a hidden knife he placed in his left boot. He slid his riding gloves on before reaching to put his cloak on. Once he was finished, he offered his arm and gave a command for the pips to stay. There were two guards outside his chamber door that were left to keep the chambers secure while they were out.
