Rider didn't hesitate this time. He reached up into the trees and grabbed Saft protectively. He tucked her in close to his front and pulled his blade free, holding it in front of her. His amber eyes swept the terrain, reaching out with his senses to try and identify the location of their adversary.
"It'll be all right-" he'd no sooner said it than he felt a sharp pain shoot down his back. He whipped his head around and saw the faintest flash of a black cloak in the darkness.

"Of all the curs to have been pitted against us..." Rider hated Assassin. There was no honor nor art in his attacks. Assassin was a coward, in Rider's opinion. "Stay close. He will try and separate us."
