The challenge and conquest was more entertaining and fulfilling than Anne could have imagined. There was something to be gained from political battles and shifting of power, but Anne found that she enjoyed her role in the more hands-on battles fought in the realm of piracy. Nothing could ever be as entertaining again.

Anne breathed heavily as she recovered, feeling him still deep inside, filling her up even as he smirked over her. She chuckled and looked up to him with heavy-lidded eyes and a flushed face. "We have a deal," she admitted. "I'll go back and see her tonight and make peace."

She had no intention of backing down or apologizing. But Anne would not be the reason that their business endeavors failed in Nassau. No, she would make certain to amend her mistake.
