Anne grinned, happy that her cunning had put her back in Charles' good graces after her apparent blunder. That was precisely what she intended to do; return to Eleanor with gift in hand, and point out the value of the Ranger and its cargo. The mention of a girlfriend for the good lady Guthrie caused Anne to pause, her mind actually locking up at the notion. She knew men sometimes pined for one another, her own brother had been known to sneak off with his minstrel friend Mark, albeit rarely. To be caught in such a state usually meant death. She had never heard of women pining for each other, save for brothel whores appeasing the requests of their male patrons.

But here the rules were slightly different.

"Girlfriend?" Anne repeated the word as though it were foreign to her. "Sounds like something I might be able to use to my advantage." She put the fact in the back of her mind.

Anne pouted her lips a bit and leaned a bit closer, purposely moving and positioning herself so that the swell of her breasts would be amplified. "She did insult me, after all. Yet you want me to play nice with her. I only meant that I would be more anxious to put myself in her good graces if I were to get some manner of reward for my...shall we say flexibility." The last word was a soft purr from her full lips.
