Anne didn't look up when the door opened. She knew who it was. There was a feeling she got when Vane looked at her; a kind of warm and tingling feeling. She felt it then, and kept her eyes focused on the blade. Only when he spoke did she look up.
"That's the only thing working in my favor, hm?" She replied. After a brief pause her eyes darkened a bit. "She insulted me. Was I supposed to let her get away with that? I was not about to let her make a mockery of me and let word spread throughout the island."
Anne sheathed the knife and turned her full attention to him. A dark smirk blossomed across her full lips. "Besides. I didn't hit her hard. If she can't take a simple smack, perhaps she ought to toughen up."
